The third Science Picnic on May 17 and 18 in the Arboretum of the Faculty of Forestry

What are climate changes, and how can we best bring them closer to young generations? How can we properly recycle? What is our ecological footprint, and what is our city's ecological footprint, and how do you reduce it? How much oxygen do plants produce? Why is biodiversity important? We will find answers to these and many other green topics together at the third Science Picnic on May 17 and 18 in Belgrade.

In the Arboretum of the Belgrade Faculty of Forestry on Banovo Brdo, the third Science Picnic entitled "Think Green "will be held on May 17 and 18 in the organization of the Science Festival and cooperation with the Faculty of Forestry of the Belgrade University and company Yettel. 

"This is a logical continuation of our constant work in promoting science. This manifestation aims to make sustainable development part of our daily lives and inspire people to reduce their negative impact on the surroundings with simple changes, to focus on nature and protect it," said Ana Petrović, Director of the Science Festival.

Entry to the Science Picnic is free for all interested.

At the Science Picnic, visitors will be introduced to scientific stories through interactive layout, workshops, and guided tours through the Arboretum in cooperation with faculties, primarily the host - Faculty of Forestry of the Belgrade University, institutes, and civil society organizations. With a focus on biology, ecology, and sustainable development, children of all ages will learn how to preserve, rectify, and enjoy them longer in our natural surroundings.

Yettel is the partner of the Science Picnic.

"Protection of the human environment is imperative, both for companies and individuals, and education is the best way.  This is precisely why this event is important, as it brings ecological topics closer to children and the youth in an interesting and understandable way and provides guidelines for the preservation of nature," said Milica Begenišić, ESG Manager in Yettel. 

The Science Picnic Program is intended for everyone, primarily children and the young, who should master ecological subjects and become aware of their surroundings and the influence they have on them.  Apart from workshops for children of school age, a number of activities will be organized for the youngest and a program for secondary school pupils and students. In line with this, the picnic friend, Ball Packaging Europe, together with its international project "Each can count," wants to inspire and motivate the youngest citizens to recycle, primarily aluminum packaging for drinks – cans, because aluminum can be recycled an unlimited number of times with minimum losses.

The Arboretum of the Faculty of Forestry lies in a space of 3.5 hectares and represents a unique natural good that students and professors nurture with love. This is a green area with a specific purpose and has exceptional botanical and landscape-architectural value. In 2011, the Arboretum was proclaimed a protected natural area of local character.
