“Prof. Dr Ilija Stojanović” Awards Presented at the School of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade
Belgrade, December 10 –
Awards
of the Yettel Foundation, “Prof. Dr Ilija Stojanović” were presented to the
best students and authors of scientific papers in the field of
telecommunication.
In the category Best
Graduate Students of the Academic Year 2021/2022, the winners are
Sara Radojković, student of the University of Belgrade, School of Electrical
Engineering, Jovana Kljajić, student of the University of Novi Sad, Faculty of
Technical Sciences and Ilija Đorđević from the University of Niš, Faculty of Electronic
Engineering.
In the category for the
awarded student paper of the TELFOR 2022 Conference, the winner is Selena
Bogojević, student of the University of Belgrade, School of Electrical
Engineering. The best paper in the field of telecommunication, published in the
renowned scientific magazine in 2021/2022, was the paper titled “Developing
Relative Humidity and Temperature Corrections for Low-Cost Sensors Using
Machine Learning“ by authors
Ivan Vajs, Dejan Drajić, Nenad Gligorić, Ilija Radovanović and Ivan Popović.
“For the fourteenth
time in a row, the Yettel Foundation is presenting the award named after Ilija
Stojanović, the creator of modern telecommunications in Serbia. The telecommunications
industry is developing and changing quickly, which is why we need young, highly
educated engineers, so to keep pace with the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Apart from the award presentation, this year, Yettel invites the awarded
students to join the company through the Kickstart programme of paid
internship. We wish for young experts to see Yettel as a place where they can
learn, develop their knowledge and skills, and work on concrete projects
together with experienced experts”, said Nataša Danilović, Strategy and
Technology Planning Director in Yettel.
The award “Prof. Dr Ilija Stojanović” was established by the Yettel (previously Telenor) Foundation in 2007, in memory of the scholar Professor Dr Ilija Stojanović, pioneer of modern telecommunications on the grounds of the former SFR Yugoslavia and today’s Serbia and founder of the Department for Telecommunications at the School of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade. Professor Stojanović was the instructor to practically every generation of today’s experienced telecommunication engineers, who are the champions of this industry.
