Awards “Professor PhD Ilija Stojanović” presented at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade

Belgrade, December 14, 2023 – For the fifteenth jubilant time, the Yettel Foundation has presented the award “Prof PhD Ilija Stojanović” to the best students and authors of scientific papers in telecommunications. 

In the category The best graduate student for the school year 2022/2023, the winners are Ana Novković, a student of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade, Milica Jankov, a student of the Faculty of Technical Sciences of the Novi Sad University and Nemanja S. Perić from the Faculty of Electronics of the Niš University. 

In the category of awarded student paper at the Conference TELFOR 2023, the winner is Filip Stevanović, a student of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of Belgrade University. The best scientific paper in the field of telecommunications, published in the renowned scientific magazine in the 2022/2023 period, was the paper “Outage Analysis of Unmanned-Aerial-Vehicle-Assisted Simultaneous Wireless Information and Power Transfer System for Industrial Emergency Applications,” by authors Aleksandra Cvetković, Vesna Blagojević, Jelena Anastasov, Nenad T. Pavlović, and Miloš Milošević.

“For the fifteenth jubilant time, Yettel Foundation is presenting the award that bears the name of Ilija Stojanović, creator of modern telecommunications in Serbia. Our industry is developing and advancing quickly, for which we need good engineers who will keep pace with the trends, as Professor Stojanovic did in his time. Apart from the awards presentation, Yettel invites awarded students to join the company through the “Kickstart” paid internship program. We want young experts to see Yettel as a place where they can improve their knowledge and work on concrete projects with experienced experts”, said Dobrivoje Stepanović, Managed Service Director at Yettel. 

The award “Prof PhD Ilija Stojanović“ was introduced by Yettel (earlier Telenor) Foundation in 2007, in memory of the Academician Professor Ilija Stojanović, pioneer of modern telecommunications in former SFRY and today’s Serbia and founder of the Telecommunications Department at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade. Professor Stojanović was a teacher of almost all generations of today’s experienced telecommunication engineers, who are the proponents of this industry.
