We invest in the technology of the future
The fifth generation of mobile Internet will bring increased speed, greater coverage and capacity, and almost completely eliminate delays in data transmission. The speeds it offers are from 10 to 100 times faster than currently available, which, combined with a much higher capacity, enables the development of various smart solutions for a better quality of life and business, based on simultaneous communication of hundreds of devices and applications. It is expected that this transformational technology will have the greatest application in automation and control of production processes, medicine, communal services, agricultural and automotive industries.
Yettel launched the first 5G base station in Serbia in the Belgrade Science and Technology Park in June 2019, and in May 2022 in NTP Čačak. With this, Yettel created test 5G environments that can be used by domestic and foreign companies, startups and students of technical faculties to develop solutions based on the technology of the future, before it is commercially available.
Yettel received temporary permits from the regulatory body for a test environment in Science and Technology Parks for spectrum in the 3600 and 2600 MHz frequency bands, which supports the speed and functionality of the 5G network.
