What can you do?
Save energy
Usage of advanced telecommunication tools (instant messages, video conferencing, etc.) will save time and money you would spend on traveling, and will help protect the environment.
If at least one bulb of 75 watts were used less in each of the 3,000,000 households in Serbia, more than one hundred million dinars would be saved per month.
Aggressive driving increases fuel consumption by up to one third. Avoid sudden speeding and braking. Try driving at even speed.
Save water
Cut shower time by a minute or two and you will save up to 500 l of water a month.
Close the tap when brushing your teeth. That way you will save up to 100 l of water a month.
Fix your broken taps and valves. With just one drop of leaking water per second we waste 9,000 l of water a year.
Recycle
Toxic material from your phone – such as heavy metals lead, mercury, arsenic, and cadmium – can pollute soil and water if disposed of in junkyards.
Recycling your cell phone makes sense on so many levels - environmental, health and financial. You should never throw your computer in the garbage, as nearly 100% of plastic, metal, and glass used to make a computer is recyclable.
By recycling one ton of paper we can save 17 trees, 4,000 KW of energy and 26,000 litres of water.
