Belgrade, December 7, 2023 – In 2022, Yettel became the first mobile network in Serbia to use only energy from renewable sources, as attested by the certificate of the competent authorities of the Republic of Serbia. Also, 29 out of 131 Yettel shops use renewable electrical power. Through the Eco Bonus service, 9,627 kg of paper/cardboard and 20,130 kg of plastic have been collected and recycled on behalf of Yettel customers, as stated in the Sustainability Report for 2022. Over 64 percent of individual users opted for the e-bill, which has contributed to saving 7,000 trees, in theory.
By the end of 2022, as part of the recycling programme, over 420 thousand devices have been collected and delivered for recycling, while at the end of 2023, that number is nearly 600 thousand.
In 2022, women accounted for 59% of Yettel employees, holding 29% of positions in the Executive Management. In technology jobs, 70 women were engaged at different levels, from junior to managerial.
By placing the third 3D model mural for the blind and vision-impaired persons in Belgrade, the project “Art in Passing” has been finished. The aim of this project, which was started in 2021 by Street Art Belgrade and Yettel Foundation, was to bring closer street art to the blind and vision-impaired persons through 3D models of murals. The third mural, for which the 3D model was made, was painted by artists Jana and Hope, and it bears a symbolic name, “Love and Hope”. The mural was painted in 2018, with the support of children from “Svratište.”
The 2022 Sustainability Report was prepared in line with an internationally recognized framework for non-financial reporting created by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) 2021. The Report contains, among other things, information on the adjustment of company Yettel with the aims of UN Sustainable Development (SDGs) and reflects the Protocol for the Reduction of Glasshouse Gases Emission, calculation of report on emission from “Scope“ 1, 2 and 3.
