Half a Million Recycled Devices at Yettel

Belgrade, June 7 – Two years ago, Yettel initiated a device recycling program. Since then, together with its customers, it has disposed of over 45 tons of electronic waste. This effort has allowed 7.8 tons of copper, 170 kg of silver, 12 kg of gold, and 7 kg of palladium to be reused. The high level of participation from customers reflects the growing environmental consciousness in Serbia and that citizens are willing to contribute when provided a simple and practical solution. In light of this, Yettel has decided to honor those customers who have recycled the most devices, and the person who recycled the half-millionth device.

The highest number of devices were recycled by Slaviša Živković from Kruševac, who managed an impressive 131 devices, and Aleksandar Mitrović from Belgrade, who brought in 39. The milestone half-millionth device was recycled by Nenad Čokorilo from Surčin. Azfar Shah, Yettel's Consumer Marketing Director, awarded the winners with electric scooters.

According to Statista.com, over 50 million tons of electronic waste is produced globally each year, which is an average of 7 kg per capita. By 2030, this figure is projected to rise to a staggering 75 million tons.
