A Car and PCs for Mother and Child Institute
Belgrade, November 27, 2023 – The Institute for Health Care of Mother and Child of Serbia
“Dr.Vukan Cupic” in Belgrade got a car and nine computers as a donation from
Yettel and Yettel Foundation. Computers were donated to the Orthopaedic and Emergency Wards,
Intra-hospital infections, EMG cabinet, IMD Amphitheatre, and IT. Also,
seventeen hospital rooms in the Haematology Department got TV access through
the Hipernet TV Box package.
“Children who stay longer in the Institute sometimes feel lonely and isolated from their peers. Thanks to Internet access and computers, they will be in touch with their families and friends and can now watch their favorite TV cartoons. I believe that this will make their stay in the hospital easier and more pleasant as much as possible“, said the Director of the Mother and Child Institute, Prof. Dr Radoje Simic.
The Institute for Health Care of Mother and Child of Serbia,
“Dr.Vukan Cupic” in Belgrade, is the largest children’s health institution in
Serbia, with 400 hospital beds and a staff of around 1,000.
During one year, around 220,000 examinations are performed in the Institute, about 22.000 children are hospitalized, out of which 18,000 stay for longer treatments, and doctors perform about 8,000 surgeries and interventions.
